One of this seasons essentials as you may or may not have seen is the stripe. They are everywhere. Bold, thin and multicoloured. The stripe is a very difficult pattern to pull off and there are a couple of rules you should bare in mind when putting together your outfit this season.

First off, stripes can be quite a daunting pattern to wear on the course and for those who are not as bold and as adventurous as others, wearing a tight, thin stripe pattern will definitely work in your favour. The reason for this is that the stripes are not as noticeable from a distance but can be seen when up close. A thin striped polo shirt will make it easier for you to match the rest of your outfit too. One rule of thumb however, is to avoid mixing stripes and checks.

If you are the type of golfer that likes colour, then choosing a multicoloured stripe shirt maybe right down your fairway. A number of brands have introduced some fantastic patterns this season consisting of 2 or more colour combinations. The key here is to ensure that you pick out the prominent colour and use this as the basis for the rest of your outfit. If the colour that works best is blue, then find a blue belt or pant to add an extra element to your outfit.

Striped knitwear is also very popular this season and when the evenings draw in and the temperature starts to fall, opting for a piece of knitwear will keep you warm as you come down the home stretch. Again, when it comes to the style of jumper, it is all down to personal preference.
