Golf Books #85 (Left-Handed Golf)

Nov 27th

“If I were playing as a lefty, I would certainly read this book carefully and consult it often.” —Gary Player

By winning the British Open in 1963, Bob Charles shattered the myth that golfers who play left-handed have a handicap. In this classic how-to manual, first published in 1965, Charles has set down his winning secrets in a complete guide to left-handed golf for the duffer or pro. He provides easy-to-follow instructions for every step of the game. And, like a guide at your side, the clear, detailed illustrations show you the finer points of playing.

You’ll learn the left-handed way to a good golf swing, a sound grip, a proper stance, a dependable backswing, a power-producing forward swing, and getting the most out of your swing for the greatest accuracy. You’ll discover, too, how to relax and enjoy your game on any course.

In this guide you’ll get all the stroke-saving tips on woods, irons, putting, and sand shots. You’ll learn the perfect address position of your feet, bodyweight, trunk, head, shoulders, and arms; wrist and hand position; what to do with your chip shots, topped shots, shanking, and weak pitch shot; how to play a course that’s laid out for right-handed golfers; and a complete run-down on all the things that can go wrong and how you can correct them.

Well the festive season is finally upon us and for most shops, that has been the case since September! You may have noticed that over the last couple of years, patterned knitwear seems to be pulled out of the wardrobe around this time. The infamous “Christmas Jumper” is no longer a Dad’s special. In fact, quite the opposite. Knitwear consisting of fairisle patterns, diamonds, stripes and autumnal tones is big this season.

We take a look at some of the patterned knits we have for you on the site. Make sure you get yours in time for the festive season and be one up on that reindeer jumper that pops up on Christmas Day!

First up we have a couple of knits from Lyle & Scott; the Crew Neck Argyle and the Placed Stripe Crew. Both of which are a great addition to your winter ensemble. Made from 100% Pima Cotton, these knits work well for both on and off course wear. The pattern design is ideal for the modern man and although this might be daunting at first, matching these jumpers to the rest of your outfit is relatively simple. Just pull colours from the jumper to compliment the rest of your look. But wait, there’s more
